What Drives Us
Dedication to endurance sports is at the forefront of our belief
system. We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle
and will work diligently to develop a program specifically catered to
your goals.
People
Our experienced and highly-qualified coaching staff has worked with
hundreds of athletes. Each coach has a minimum of USAT Level II certification. We have over 20 years of combined triathlon experience
and compete at the elite amateur and professional level.
Company
SCS MULTISPORT is a new company formed in 2006. We specialize in
sport-specific training and utilize scientific approaches to help
athletes reach their potential. Through testing, proper periodization,
and use of state-of-the-art equipment, athletes will experience a
unique level of training. Read

Expertise
Dan Cohen
Dan was the 2003 head coach for the Leukemia Society's Team in Training. Dan is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and a USA Triathlon level II certified coach. Dan has his B.A in Psychology and his Masters degree in Exercise Science. He has gained invaluable triathlon training and racing experience competing as one of Minnesota's top 10 triathletes for the past 9 years. He was nominated 2000 “Rookie of the Year” and 2006 “Most Improved Triathlete” by Midwest Events Magazine. Dan was also a nominee for “Triathlete and Duathlete of the Year” for both 2007 and 2008. He has completed six Ironman races and has many podium finishes as well as a several overall victories. He turned professional in 2007. With his strong educational background and personal experience, Dan has helped many athletes reach their athletic goals.

John Shelp
Teaching, coaching and competing are John's passions! He is finishing
his 9th year as a certified physical education teacher and coach. At
the age of 33, he has 15 years of coaching experience. His experience
began with a club swim team but has included track/cross country,
Nordic skiing, triathlon and even gymnastics and football. He thoroughly
enjoyed his position as head coach of the Team in Training for both
Lifetime Fitness and Pacific Grove Triathlons. John has also gained
valuable and practical experience as a top amateur athlete world wide. In
2004 John qualified for the Kona Ironman with a 33rd overall at IM
Couer d' Alene in a time of 9:48. At last year's short course World
Championships he was 5th in a tough 30-34 age-group with a top 5
overall bike split. He turned professional in 2007.

Kris Swarthout
Kris has been competing in triathlons since 2001. He consistently is
one of the top athletes in his age group. Kris has completed four
Ironman races including Wisconsin, Canada, Switzerland and holds a
10:45:47 personal record. From 2004 to 2007 he has been the recipient
of a USAT All-American Honorable Mention. Kris is currently the Midwest
Regional President for USATriathlon. Kris is the head coach of the
Batteries Plus Minnesota Junior Elite Team and has been the captain
and coach of the Gear West Triathlon Club since 2003. He strives
to help people achieve the ultimate balance of family and sport in their lives.

SCS Multisport has teamed up with other local top level
professionals to give you, the athlete, a complete resource guide
of who to turn to when you need help beyond the scope of your
coach. You can be assured that this group of professionals has
been hand picked by SCS Multisport for their ability, expertise and
professionalism in their respective fields. Simply put,
these are the people we go to when we are in need. Feel free to
